New Blog

Good day everyone. I have now transferred my blog to a new domain, please proceed here, www.neerodvideo.com/blog.

When A Videographer Becomes A Wedding Planner

I don't quite get it when some videographer's are asking too much from the couple to do during the event. Imposing something on what the couple including entourage should do during the wedding day just to make the video look right is uncalled for. A wedding planner is there to sort things out. If the videographer wants a grand impact for his video coverage he can communicate it with the wedding coordinator. The videographer should conform with the wedding set-up and not to ruin the ambiance of the celebration specially during the reception. He should adjust to whatever the wedding celebration is required not the other way around. The wedding day is the couple's event and not for the videographer to do some exhibition.

Busy Week

It has been a busy week as we have to meet our self imposed deadlines for our foreign clients.

Anyway, we have a client from down under for an editing job. We are still working on the technical aspects since we are using different system but the first test project is ok with only minor glitches. I will post here soon on how an Australian wedding is celebrated.

Have a nice day.

Ebook: So You Are Getting Married

Interesting read for those who are tying the knots. Just give it a try as it wouldn't cost you a fortune to get one. Just click the image below if you are interested.

Filipino Weddings Abroad

It is the same ceremony. The same tradition practiced. The same Filipino faces. But the thing what I have observed during the reception is the use of Filipino songs during the parties. I seldom or never notice this in a local wedding celebration probably because Filipino's nationalism is greatly enhanced for whatever reasons when they are in a foreign soil. We have to think about?

Filming Style

We have different video production clients from abroad for video editing. They have different filming or shooting styles and likewise they have different editing style that we are required to do.

One of them is more inclined to shoot all the scenes with a steadycam device. Steadicam is a device that minimizes unwanted camera shakes even if the camera operator is moving. Steadicam" shot is good but too much of it will make you feel dizzy and will loose its effectiveness when overdone. Its not that compelling for the video editors to do since it will make you fall asleep while you are working on it. Though, I made it through and finished the project without getting into a deep slumber but the editing time has been extended as I would usually do other chores when my eyes are tempted to close.

Another client of ours is a complete opposite. They only make use of the "steadicam" for a 10 second scene usually of the couple's set-up kissing. I think this is not enough since there are other parts of the wedding celebration that can make use of the steadicam such as a tracking shot of the cake or a dolly shot of the bride walking down the aisle.

These are just my observation and we are not into position to ask why. Thats their style and our job is to make an excellent edited video from their footage. The finished video should make them happy and in return make their respective clients happy.

Another

Another comparison here but its no longer about the photographers and videgraphers. This time it pertains to how the mass is celebrated and officiated.

The officiating priest in a Roman Catholic Ceremony from abroad is far more open minded than what we have here. They do embrace the presence of people with different beliefs and religious backgrounds. They could be the friends or relatives of the bride and groom who wants to witness the ceremony.

Yes it is the same Catholic Ceremony but their liberal approach is what makes me think why it is not done here.
